Today was supposed to be the crescendo—the final day of exams that loomed over us like a distant storm. But fate, with its unexpected twists, decided otherwise. Our much-anticipated exams were suddenly cancelled due to emergency reasons, leaving both relief and confusion mingling in the air. The mood shifted quickly, from anxiety to a buoyant, almost mischievous freedom that only sudden cancellations can bring.
Isabel—captured perfectly in the photo, with that playful glint—and the entire squad of BSIT 3A WMAD, gathered at the SBO Office, our usual refuge and workspace. What started as a determined review session gradually unraveled into waves of laughter and distraction. Notes lay open, but somehow the hum of the printer and the rustle of freshly printed modules became the real soundtrack of our day. We chased deadlines for subjects now tentatively scheduled for next week, passing modules hand-to-hand, marking pages with colored pens, and letting ourselves simply exist in the moment.
With nothing urgent keeping us, the office turned into our temporary hangout. The midday sun watched us linger, sharing stories and jokes, our worries melting quietly into the background. Eventually, like the tide going out, we parted ways for home—carrying with us not the weight of exams, but the lightness of an unexpected gift of time.
Returning home early, a rare treat, I found a gentle peace in the familiar comfort of my own space. The evening, as if making up for the morning’s anticlimax, brought its own kind of adventure. With friends, I wandered the lively lanes of the market, savoring the chaos of voices, the aroma of cooked dishes, and the simple joy of sharing food. For a while, exams and deadlines faded to a distant hum. The night concluded back at home, my heart a little lighter, grateful for stolen moments and small celebrations in between life’s bigger events.
